Abstract: This article outlines the main provisions of the theory of Rudolf Bultmann and the patristic tradition about the nature of the gospel miracle. Based on the Holy Scriptures and the patristic tradition, the author of the article conducts a comparative analysis of the neo- Orthodox Western European and Orthodox views on the nature of miracles, and also determines the criteria for the truth of a miracle. The author of the article does not aim at a deeper and more detailed examination of the problem of miracles in the theology of Rudolf Bultmann, but, on the one hand, seeks to acquaint the reader in general terms with his position, on the other hand, using the method of comparison, demonstrates the falsity of the provisions of Western theological thought that contradict Eastern theological traditions.
